Atletico Madrid will definitely be without influential defender Jose Maria Gimenez for their trip to face Manchester City in the Champions League this week.
Gimenez was substituted late on in Atletico's La Liga win over Alaves this week and looked in some discomfort, raising doubts over his availability to face City at the Etihad.
Now, Atleti have confirmed that Gimenez has not travelled to Manchester for the quarter final first leg, and may be a doubt for next week's second leg in Madrid, as they named a 22-man squad for the fixture.

A club statement read: "José María Giménez is not part of the Red & White expedition to Manchester.
"The Uruguayan defender withdrew in the final minutes of the match against Alavés due to discomfort. The medical services carried out different tests and he will not travel to England. The evolution of his discomfort will mark his return to the group work."
Yannick Carrasco is also not in the squad due to suspension, but former City defender Stefan Savic and ex-Liverpool frontman Luis Suarez will travel.
Carrasco will be available for the second leg, although Atletico have five players at risk of missing that fixture if they are booked in the first leg. Suarez, Joao Felix, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Marcos Llorente and Reinaldo are all one yellow card away from suspension - as is Hector Herrera, who has not travelled to Manchester. City have Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and Joao Cancelo at risk of the same punishment if booked on Tuesday.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone could give a further update on Gimenez's chances of playing in the second leg when he faces the media on Monday evening after arriving in Manchester.
