Atlanta is the crown jewel of Beyoncé's Renaissance tour

The one of one singer Beyoncé Knowles-Carter wrapped up her Renaissance World Tour with $579 million in revenue. The tour will go down in history as the highest-grossing tour by a female artist of all time. The Renaissance World Tour is also the seventh top-grossing tour in history, with Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Tour” landing at No. 1 at $939 million. A documentary of the tour, titled “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé” is also set to hit the big screen Dec. 1 in theaters

The Renaissance World Tour started on May 10 in Stockholm, Sweden, and ended on Oct. 1 in Kansas City, Missouri. It’s based off of her seventh studio album “Renaissance” which was released last year in July. Beyoncé completed a total of 56 shows in 39 different cities. She reportedly made an average of $10.3 million per show in each.

Not only did Beyoncé earn millions for each show, but she also boosted the economies of every city that was dosed with a touch of Renaissance. The singer increased revenue spending for each city as fans booked travel and hotel reservations, purchased food, visited beauty salons and indulged in local shopping. It is estimated that the Renaissance World Tour boosted the American economy by $4.4 billion overall. 

America showed out for Queen Bey as millions attended her ninth tour, which took place five years after she performed on a stage, with the last time being in 2018 when she headlined Coachella (or Beychella). Every American city made it clear that they missed the singer, but Beyhive members in some cities were more in formation than others based on revenue and attendance numbers for each show.

Based off of Billboard’s Boxscore numbers for July and August, here are the top five American cities that generated the most revenue for the Renaissance World Tour. This is subject to change as Billboard’s Boxscore numbers for September have not been released yet.

1. Atlanta – $39.8 million

Atlanta not only holds the crown for winning the singer’s mute challenge, but it so far generated the most revenue for the American leg of the Renaissance World Tour. Beyoncé performed at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Aug. 11-12, which had an attendance of 156K fans.

2. East Rutherford, N.J. – $33.1 million

Coming in second place, New Jersey also had big energy for Beyoncé at the MetLife Stadium on July 29-30 with 106K fans attending both shows.

3. Chicago – $30.1 million

Snatching third place, roughly 97.7K fans showed love to Beyoncé in Chi-town on July 22-23 at Soldier Field stadium.

4. Landover, Md. – $29.4 million

Even though Chicago generated a bit more revenue than Maryland by less than $1 million, the Beyhive created more buzz with an attendance of 97.9K fans during her Aug. 5-6 dates at FedExField stadium.

5. Las Vegas – $25.8 million, attendance is 86.5K

On Aug. 26-27 at Allegiant Stadium, 86.5K fans made just enough noise to make Las Vegas land at the No. 5 spot.
