At least 3 killed in shooting at Copenhagen shopping mall

At least three people were killed and several others injured in a shooting at a Copenhagen shopping mall Sunday, Danish police said.

State of play: Police arrested a 22-year-old Danish man in connection with the shooting at Field’s mall. "Our preliminary investigation continues to indicate that the perpetrator acted on his own," police inspector Søren Thomassen said in a statement.

  • "We are in the process of a massive and very extensive investigation, which will continue throughout the night and in the coming days," Thomassen added.

The big picture: Field's is the largest shopping center in Denmark, per the New York Times.

  • Singer Harry Styles was scheduled to hold at a concert Sunday evening at a venue less than a mile away from the mall, but the performance was cancelled, AP reported.
  • "My team and I pray for everyone involved in the Copenhagen shopping mall shooting," Styles wrote on Snapchat per the AP. "I am shocked."
