'At Crufts I held £500,000 diamond canine necklace - now I wish I was a dog'

After visiting Crufts 2022, I can now say I've had half a million pounds in my hands - and I don't know whether I will ever be able to say that again.

Jeweller Nathalie Knauf, 37, who runs Knauf Jewels in Soho, London, showcased her £500,000 diamond dog necklace to Crufts visitors and amassed big crowds.

The dazzling silver accessory was modelled on the neck of her tiny white Pomeranian, Misty.

It is the first prototype of her new bespoke canine business, Pomie Diamonds, targeted at wealthy London dog owners.

Nathalie told The Mirror : "We chose the best diamonds for it. It has 91 Class D diamonds and 15 carats. I was asked to create it by a lady in Knightsbridge."

Nathalie has 11 Pomeranians at home, and calls her doggy family the "Soho Poms".

It is her first year at the world's biggest dog show in Birmingham, and she couldn't be more excited to have a stall.

This week, she is launching two products, including the half-a-million pound dog necklace and a rose oil dog shampoo - "because dogs should be spoiled too".

Nathalie continued: "Every dog necklace will be made to order and bespoke for each dog.

"People have different expectations of price, and they may choose to add coloured stones like sapphires and rubies.

"All of the diamonds are responsibly sourced."

Pomie Diamonds already has two bespoke orders in the pipeline after two ladies in London showed an interest.

In a video interview with Crufts, Nathalie said: "I am very much caring for dogs and the health of dogs.

"It's very important when you choose a dog that it's actually fitting into your family, that it's the right choice if you have children, that it comes from the right breeder and it's taken care of.

"I'm in the process of joining the Kennel Charitable Trust and I'm also on the board of a number of other charities, so that's something very dear to my heart."

Nathalie is among hundreds of stall owners at Crufts Trade Exhibition in the NEC in Birmingham this weekend.
