ASTRO singer Moonbin has been found dead at his home, as fans pay tribute to the Kpop star, who was just 25.
Moonbin's manager is believed to have found the singer dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, after he didn't show up for rehearsals.
The singer, who was born Moon Bin, became a member of ASTRO in 2016 and their debut track Hide & Seek was a smash with listeners in South Korea and internationally.
In 2016, the five piece, formed entertainment company ASTRO, were named as one of the best Kpop acts by Billboard.
The band had their own short lived reality show, Astro OK! Ready, which ran in 2016.
His sister, Moon Sui is part of the girl group Billie.
Moonbin had been due to perform in Jakarta next month with fellow ASTRO member Sanha, but organisers announced today the show would not go ahead, due to "unforseen circumstances beyond our control that we could not avoid."
Local police have reported the singer and dancer's death as suicide.
The Seoul Gangnam Police said in a statement: “It appears that Moonbin took his own life,” adding: “We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.”
ASTRO have released a statement on their Twitter account, describing the news as "heart breaking", saying the singer has become a "star in the sky."
They added that the sadness of the bereaved family is "incomparable", but ASTRO members are deeply mourning.
Moonbin, they said, always loved and thought of the fans more than anyone else.
The statement asked fans to refrain from speculation, and said the funeral will be a quiet affair, according to the wishes of Moonbin's family.
Fans have rushed to pay tribute to Moonbin on Twitter, with one saying: "Today is such a sad day for the kpop community, and the fans, friends, and family of Moonbin.
"My heart goes out to everyone who loved him, and the other members of Astro. He was so loved."
Another wrote: "Rest in peace, moonbin. sending my deepest condolences to his family, the astro members and arohas."
A third said: "This is not what I expected. I wish you well right now. We miss you very much, Moonbin. You left us way too soon, our angel!"
A fourth penned: "We will miss you Moonbin. You will remain in our hearts forever and will be our Brightest Moonbin. This is just heartbreaking."
