These astonishing photographs capture twin babies, one of whom was born in the amniotic sac in a rare phenomenon.
Jaqueline Melo Oliveira last week gave birth, aged 43, after some 14 years trying to get pregnant.
She spoke of her joy at welcoming Rafael and Bernardo via the en caul birth, a rare occurrence, which happens in less than one and 80,000 pregnancies.
Bernando, born in the amniotic sac one minute after his brother, weighed 7lb 7oz, while Rafael was just 4lb 9oz
Jaqueline said: "It's amazing, isn't it? Perfect. It looks like a doll coming out of a bubble. I always saw it on other people's social networks, but I never imagined it would happen to mine."
The family is now back home in Salvador, Brazil, after the birth at Hospital Portuges on Monday May 1.
Jaqueline continued: "I spent 14 years trying to get pregnant, we did fertilisation and they were twins.
"It was always a dream to be a mother, imagine how fulfilled I am and God even granted me a double pregnancy."
Doctors Jose Carlos Jesus Gaspar and Allan Nogueira da Silva were the obstetricians in charge of the birth.
Dr Gaspar said babies are usually healthy when born in the amniotic sac.
The medic added: "As long as he was inside the bag, that means he was in the environment he's been in for the last nine months.
"There is not a sudden change in the birth process."
