Aston Villa vs Chelsea prediction and odds: Aubameyang back to score and frustrate Steven Gerrard's side

Chelsea will be looking to extend their gap between themselves and Manchester United as they take on an Aston Villa side struggling to gather any form of momentum. Graham Potter's side are undefeated under their new boss and the new boss will be looking to narrow the gap on Tottenham Hotspur to just four points with a game-in-hand.

The Blues go into this match as the favourites with Betfred at 17/20 while Villa are 19/5 and a draw is 13/5. The visitors have picked up just one defeat in their last 10 Premier League meetings against the Villains - winning eight and drawing just once.

For Steven Gerrard, the pressure is starting to get intense for the former Rangers boss. Despite plenty of backing from the owners, he is yet to show any serious signs of improvements from what was hoped after Dean Smith's dismissal.

Betting angles

The Blues have finished five of their eight league matches this season with both teams scoring while for Aston Villa it is five from their nine Premier League outings. No on both teams to score is 10/11.

Chelsea matches almost guarantee goals having finished seven of their eight league outings with two or more goals while Villa have been rather conservative with their goal involvements finishing just three league ties in this manner. Over 2.5 total goals is evens.

Potter's side average 10.63 total corners this season and 11.25 on away trips while Villa average eight overall and at home too. Over 10.5 total corners is 11/10.
