Aston Villa are lining up a fresh move for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips next summer according to the latest reports. The Telegraph claim Steven Gerrard's side are lining up a £60million move for the Whites academy graduate in order to plug their defensive midfield gap.
Gerrard saw a £25million bid rejected Brighton’s Yves Bissouma with Douglas Luiz's future at Villa Park up in the air. Leeds are understood to have held early talks with Phillips over a new deal at Elland Road but the report claims negotiations have stalled.
The Villains have struggled to fill the defensive midfielder void since promotion back to the Premier League. Jesse Marsch will be keen to keep the England international at Elland Road, with Phillips an integral part of the Whites' squad.

Speculation surrounding Phillips future is nothing new. After a stellar Euro2020 tournament, the Whites midfielder was linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, while Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Phillips since the completion of the Saudi takeover.
If Leeds are to secure their Premier League status, it's likely the Whites resolve will be tougher to break.
