Police are urgently appealing for the victim of an alleged attack to come forward.
The assault happened just before 4pm on Sunday, March 13, near South Gosforth Metro Station in the Gosforth area of Newcastle.
It was reported that two men were attacking another male which had been witnessed by members of the public who contacted the police. Police officers attended the scene but all parties had already left the area when they arrived.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 4pm yesterday (Sunday) officers received a report of an assault ongoing near South Gosforth Metro Station.
“It was reported that two men were attacking another male and it had been witnessed by members of the public.
“Officers attended the scene but all parties had already left the area. Police are asking the victim or anyone who knows those involved to come forward by contacting us via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log NP-20220313-0773.”
