High slopes: Justin and Hailey Bieber in Aspen, Colorado

The pop star and his model wife have been on a new year break with friends Kylie and Kendall Jenner in Aspen, Colorado.
The model wrote on Instagram: “Best times. Best friends. Happy New Year.”
It was a far cry from some ski resorts in the Alps, which are suffering from a shortage of snow.
Unseasonably warm weather and low snowfall have caused the problem.
Swiss weather forecaster MétéoSuisse highlighted some of the hottest temperatures ever seen at this time of year.
A weather station in Delemont, on the French border, reached a record average daily temperature of 18.1C on New Year’s Day.
Christmas week was the second warmest on record in France. Half of the country’s slopes are currently closed.
