ASOS Marketplace launches online charity shop

Fashion for good is on the rise.

Whether that's trying to lessen your wardrobe's environmental footprint by buying pre-loved items or giving back by rummaging through charity shops, in 2019, we all want to improve our shopping habits.

Enter ASOS, which has launched three charity shop boutiques in partnership with Oxfam, Barnardo's and TRAID.

The new boutiques on ASOS's independent and vintage section, ASOS Marketplace, stock one-of-a-kind items, with 100 per cent of all proceeds going directly to three charities.

The Oxfam Festival Shop, which has been a regular pop-up on the festival circuit now has a digital home over the summer. The online store sells a range of vintage band tees, festival-ready crochet two-sets and vibrant outerwear.

Meanwhile, TRAID's boutique specialises in vintage clothes, shoes and accessories. The charity's Commercial Director, Enedina Columbano, says: "Expect a highly curated collection featuring one-off pieces, limited edition hand-printed tees and 80s, 90s and Y2K gems."

Describing the process on Instagram, ASOS Marketplace explained: "You did a spring clear out and donated a few bags of clothes to charity. Specialist teams rifled through them, and thousands of others, to select the highest quality one-offs. They were cleaned, re-conditioned, photographed and then uploaded on to site for other people to find and treasure all over again!"

With prices starting at £15, shopping for vintage one-offs has never been easier.
