Aslan frontman Christy Dignam is back at home after a long stay in hospital following a recent health scare.
The Dubliner, who has been battling a rare blood disorder called amyloidosis since 2013, was hospitalised last month, forcing the band to postpone their highly anticipated 3Arena gig.
But the band have announced that Christy, 62, is now out of hospital and asked for fans to respect his and his family’s privacy as he rests at home and works on building up his strength.

“We are delighted to announce some good news, Christy is finally home after spending a long time in hospital,” the Crazy World hitmakers wrote on Twitter.
“He needs time now to rest and settle back in and build his strength back up but he is so happy to be back home and with his family.
“We ask that you respect Christy and his family’s privacy.
“Welcome Home Christy! You never cease to amaze us with your strength and fight that you give to everything.”
Fans were delighted to hear that the singer had returned home to his family and rushed to offer their well wishes online.
One said: “Brilliant news! Mind yourself dear Christy!”
Another wrote: “Thank God, that's just great news, keeping Christy in my thoughts and prayers.”
Speaking from his hospital bed earlier this month, Christy thanked everyone for their messages of support during what he described as a ‘difficult time’.
He told us: “Christy here, I would like to personally thank you all for all your messages of support and good wishes that were sent to me while I’m in hospital.
“They have really lifted my spirits, in what was a difficult time for me and my family and the ASLAN team. My treatment is going well and hopefully I’ll be back home soon. I can’t wait to get back on the road with the Boyz.. One Love , Christy.”
Their band manager Denise McCormack previously explained that Christy ended up in hospital after he took a reaction to new medication.
She went on to clarify: “He didn’t collapse. Just with the treatment he was on, there were some side effects to it. It was a reaction that he had.. he wouldn’t have been well enough.
“But he was in hospital getting his check up and it happened there. He was in the right place (when it happened)
“But he’s in good form.”
“Aslan are dying to get back out there again,” she added.
“Look, it happened but it was best that it happened that week and it wasn’t something that happened when we were in the 3Arena.”
The band boss said they were also in talks to reschedule their postponed 3Arena date and will hopefully make an announcement soon.
The 3Arena gig was due to be the band’s biggest show of their career to date, celebrating 40 years since they formed in 1982.
