Aslan confirm rescheduled date for 40th anniversary tour

Aslan have confirmed that their anniversary tour will go ahead on March 18 in Dublin’s 3Arena.

Their tour, which marks 40 years of the band’s existence, had to cancel its September date after frontman Christy Dignam became ill. The singer has been battling a rare blood disease known as amyloidosis for over six years.

Aslan announced the good news on Twitter and reassured fans that original tickets were still valid for the performance. There is still limited availability left for tickets on the night.

The band wrote on Twitter: “We are delighted to announce our new date for our 3Arena gig. We want to thank everyone that held onto their tickets and we hope you are ready to celebrate with us St Patrick’s Weekend 2023.”

Christy Dignam previously thanked fans for their good wishes after he returned home from hospital. The 62-year-old said that public support had been “invaluable” to him after he was advised by doctors not to go ahead with the 40th anniversary performance.

Tickets are on sale for €53.80, with purchase limited to 8 tickets per person.
