Asking $88 Million, The Latest Spec House For Bel Air Comes With Car Lift And A Nod To Hollywood

822 Sarbonne Bel Air, California

A spec house has come to market in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles with an asking price of $88 million, making it the second most expensive home publicly listed for sale in the neighborhood and, if it were to sell at that price, it would be one of the most expensive sales for the city.

The property was built by by L.A. developer Ardie Tavangarian, of Arya Group—who is already known for building some of the most expensive properties in the city as well as homes for famous folks such as entertainment impresario Jeffrey Katzenberg and Hard Rock Cafe cofounder Peter Morton (who himself set a price record for L.A. with the $110 million sale of his Malibu home in the spring of this year).

Approximately 25,000 square feet of indoor living area, plus 20,000 square feet of outdoor space for surrounding gardens and a roof top deck that covers nearly the entire footprint of the main house, make up the eight-bedroom house.

A car lift, pictured above, fits four cars and is one of the sleek features in a home that has some subtle and not-so-subtle hints that could appeal to a Hollywood buyer. The exterior of the home is designed to look like a dozen frames, with one main centerpiece framing a view of the Los Angeles skyline.

A built-in projector can show films on the huge white wall in the indoor/outdoor living room.

The large white wall can be used as a movie screen.

Even the outdoor pool is lined with statues reminiscent of what they give out at the Academy Awards. Fittingly, an impressive silver screen rises up from the ground.

Then there are parts of the house that would appeal to anyone. The wine storage room, because calling it a cellar does not do it justice, comes with a kitchen and glass display shelves currently filled with candy dispensers.

You can also take in the views from an upstairs and downstairs deck, which includes a 40-foot fire pit that operates at the touch of a button.

The home also includes and indoor movie theater, art studio, massage room, sauna and spa.
