Ashton Jeanty already had an impressive enough body of work at Boise State to merit the top running back ranking on our preseason big board. Jeanty quickly validated the lofty ranking with an explosion of impressive production in Boise State’s 2024 debut.
Jeanty set a Broncos school record with 267 rushing yards in Boise State’s 56-45 win over Georgia Southern. He also rushed for a record six touchdowns, a single-game mark that ties the Mountain West Conference record.
One of the preseason evaluation questions about Jeanty as a prospect was his open-field speed. Jeanty checked that box on his way to the records:

He had touchdown runs of 77 and 75 yards in the game, scoring on six of his 20 rushing attempts. Quite a start to the college season for Jeanty!
