The former Kangaroos duo both had their moves confirmed before Wednesday's deadline on a busy final day of the competition's sign and trade period.
Carlton traded Courtney Jones to Gold Coast, while Grace Kelly joined St Kilda from West Coast.
The Eagles sent Niamh Kelly and Amber Ward to premiers Adelaide, with Jessica Sedunary moving in the opposite direction, and the Crows traded Nikki Gore to Fremantle.
Ashmore, who has played 49 AFLW games, joins fellow former Kangaroos Jess Duffin and Aileen Gilroy at Hawthorn.

"We'll look to her for some leadership and expertise in the brown and gold."

"Her experience for her age will be a great addition to our group," Bulldogs list manager Mick Sandry said.
"She is an excellent user of the football, has high footy IQ and is a proven goal kicker."
Former WNBL basketballer Olivia Levicki has joined Port Adelaide as a rookie.
At 188cm, Levicki is set to take on a ruck role with the Power.
"Taking on footy is the new challenge I feel like I'm needing now," the 29-year-old said.
"I have achieved what I can in basketball and I am really proud of that.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my basketball journey.
