An Asda worker's heart "broke" when she saw a boy approach the till and had to step in to help.
Maureen, who works in the Ellesmere Port store on Grange Road, saw the schoolboy's banking app on his phone wasn't working and he was struggling to pay for some Mother's Day flowers. The boy, who was no older than 14, was disappointed at the prospect of not being able to buy the bouquet after watching other customers do so.
But kind-hearted Maureen stepped in and paid for the flowers herself.

Adele, the store's community champion, said: "Having seen everyone going through the checkouts with their flowers it broke Maureen's heart to see this poor little lad – who was no older than 14 – look so disappointed at the prospect of not being able to buy his own. So she jumped into action and paid for them herself."
To thank the Asda worker, the boy's mum posted on the Pride in the Port Facebook group and said her son will pay the kindness forward.
She said: "He is so grateful as am I. I wasn’t expecting it at all. My son shall pay the kindness forward. Thank you so much."
Maureen's managers also praised her for her kindness and said she was a credit to the company.
Maureen's manager, Caroline, said: "She's an amazing colleague and we are all proud of her." Store manager Katie added: "Well done Maureen you are a credit to our store. Thank you for this great act of kindness."
