Asda worker celebrates 40 years of service at Falkirk store

A man who started work experience at a Falkirk supermarket is now celebrating 40 years of service.

David Liddle first walked through the doors of Asda on Newmarket Centre in 1980.

He later became a member of staff and has been employed, working in the produce department since.

His colleagues have described him as extremely popular man who takes pride in his job.

David said: "When I started at Asda, it was only supposed to be for six month’s work experience, but they kindly offered to make me permanent, and I’m still here 40 years later.”

“It’s been great to work with all my colleagues over the years; we work well together, and the managers have been great too.

"The Asda Falkirk team are a great bunch!”

Asda Falkirk, Fresh Manager, Gary Hood, said: “David takes real pride in his work and is the engine room of the produce department.

"He will do anything for anyone, and he is extremely popular with our staff and customers. "His colleagues are always happy to support him.

“Celebrating 40 years of service is an amazing achievement! Congratulations David and thank you for everything.”
