Asda customers are being urged to return a popular salad item to stores for a refund.
The supermarket has warned shoppers that John West is recalling batches of its tuna salad pots as a precaution. Information on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website states John West On The Go Indian Tuna Rice Salad contains soya and wheat which are not mentioned on the label.
Affected products are therefore a "possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to soya, and/or coeliac disease, an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten".

This issue only affects products sold at Asda stores, according to the FSA. Affected items have a best before date of June 2025. They also have a "BAS" code on the back of the foil bowl.
Asda said: "If you have purchased John West On The Go Indian Tuna Rice Salad 220g with a 'BAS' code please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.
"We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information, please contact: consumercontact@john-west.com".
