High fuel prices are contributing to the cost of living crisis currently affecting people up and down the country.
According to the RAC, the current average price for a litre of unleaded is 162.19p, while it is 176.18 for diesel. Part of the reason for the rise in price comes from a fuel shortage in the UK, the Mirror reports.
Diesel supplies are reportedly at their lowest since 2008 as international events have impacted supply. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has affected supplies of fuel, while protest groups have attempted to block terminals and oil tankers in order to highlight the world's reliance on fossil fuels.
With prices high thanks to a number of factors, motorists will want to ensure that they are not paying any more than they already have to. Luckily, PetrolPrices.com has a handy tool that allows drivers to find the cheapest fuel near them.
