Asda, Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury's, Lidl and Morrisons' opening times for Bank Holiday

August Bank Holiday has finally arrived and it's set to be a warm, mostly dry weekend across the country.

Many will have a relaxed few days in store, with plans to enjoy the weather and spend as much time as possible outside. Others might be planning on spending quality time catching up with friends and family, while for some it might be another working day.

Regardless of your plans, it's worth bearing in mind that most shops alter their opening hours during bank holidays. It can be easy to forget, but not something you want to be caught out by - especially while buying the last-minute grub for your family barbecue.

Most major supermarkets make changes to their opening hours, including the likes of Asda, Tesco, Aldi, Morrisons and Sainsbury's. Here are all of the changes to opening times at the major UK supermarkets for this August Bank Holiday.

Aldi

Most Aldi stores should be open as usual on Saturday and Sunday. That means 8am to 10pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, though this can vary by location.

On Monday most branches will be open from 8am to 8pm. Check your local store here.

There will also be reduced opening hours on Monday, with supermarkets open between 6am and 8pm or 8am and 8pm.

Tesco stores will be open as usual on Saturday and Sunday, and on Monday most larger stores will be open between 9am and 6pm.

However, hours may vary by location, so check Tesco’s store locator to find the exact times for your local shop.

Most Tesco Express stores should be open as usual on Monday.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s Local shops have longer hours – normally between 7am and 11pm. This will be the same on Monday.

On Monday most larger stores will be open from 8am until 5.30pm, but check the store finder to make sure this applies to your local.
