Supermarket giant ASDA has blown shoppers away with a budget £2 meal that tastes so good, people say they don't want to buy a takeaway again. Takeaway lovers could potentially save hundreds every year by swapping to the budget £2 ASDA meal - which isn't a bad thing as Brits do as much as they can to lower bills in the cost of living crisis.
Shoppers say they've also been impressed by an Indian version of the same £2 meal. ASDA's Chinese for one meal costs a very reasonable £2, and contains sweet and sour chicken, chicken curry, egg fried rice and spring rolls.
ASDA also has Takeaway for One Chicken Jalfrezi and Tarka Dahl, Takeaway for One Firecracker Chicken & Garlic Ginger Chicken and Takeaway for One Chicken Tikka & Saag Aloo options.

Shoppers were blown away by the quality and the quantity of the meal, and shared their experiences on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page. Julie Wiggins explained: "I bought this from Asda. Wasn't expecting too much for £2 but wow, it was lovely. Frozen meal for 1. They had an Indian one too. Popped the spring rolls in the air fryer as bought more than one so cost to heat up was worth it."
Some shoppers said they'd ditch takeaways in place of the ASDA £2 meals. Others raved about how good they taste.
Maria Rogers said: "I have had this and it was really nice." Helen Cowdell agreed: "These are lovely … theres a firecracker chicken one and it’s sooo nice."
Sarah Carnell wrote: "I had the Indian one really nice and enough for one will be buying again." Rebekah Marie Smith added: "I had one last night, was just enough for one person and bang on for £2."
Laura Goodman said: "My 11 year old loves this." Helen Cowdell commented: "These are lovely … theres a firecracker chicken one and it’s sooo nice."
