Asda shoppers share outrage at 'mad' price of Cadbury Chocolate Yule Log

Asda is selling a yummy festive chocolate yule log from Cadbury that looks perfect for any Christmas dessert, but it has everyone talking about one thing.

With Christmas fast approaching, shoppers are beginning to get excited for the latest festive themed treats to start hitting store shelves, but, of course, everyone would still like to stick to a budget this year.

The Manchester Evening reports that is why the price off the Cadbury Chocolate Yule Log has rubbed up a few shoppers in the wrong way, with the price tag being branded as "mad".

The chocolate yule log is a Christmas dessert staple for some households, which is also why some shoppers can't wait to get their hands on the new dessert.

The Cadbury new yule log is coated in milk chocolate and features chocolate sponge, an orange sauce and orange flavoured buttercream - perfect for chocolate orange lovers at this time of year!

The festive treat was shared to the Instagram page @sweetreviewsuk for their 37.6k followers to see and it quickly went viral.

In a detailed post, the review company wrote:

"This year @cadburyuk have given us an extra treat by launching a chocolate orange yule log! Yaaaass!!

"Made with a chocolate sponge, orange flavoured buttercream filling, an orange sauce and coated in milk chocolate this yule log is exactly what we needed in the Christmas line up. ⠀

"The orange filling is juicy, zesty and reminds us a bit of Jaffa orange. The sponge let's the yule log down a little as it is a bit dry. Thankfully the amount of filling helps to mask the dry sponge. ⠀

"Overall a nice enough yule log however we think for the size of it, we can't agree with the price of £2.50 we are sure these are usually £1-£1.50? Available now from @asda."

Of course the last statement was enough to get shoppers flocking to the comments section to express their own thoughts on the rice of the yule log.

"Everything seems so expensive. Food prices have gone mad. £2.50 for a pretty basic choc roll seems way off. Great photography as always." Wrote one unimpressed shopper.

Despite the price tag being quite high for some shoppers, it certainly proved to be quite a hit for most who were excited to get their hands on the treat.

"Ooh my hubby is going to LOVE this" one shoppers enthusiastically claimed.

"I need this in my life" wrote another shopper.

A third shopper was just as excited for the chocolate orange yule log as they wrote: "Maybe we need an Xmas choc orange party."
