Happy ASDA shoppers are praising a simple £40 item they say can help slash energy bills by saving on heating. The budget buy only costs pennies to run at a time many people are struggling to afford to keep devices on.
ASDA current has the Silentnight Heated Throw on sale for £40 in stores. And even cheaper alternative is also available, with a similar blanket currently going for just £28 on the Silentnight website, reports Birmingham Live Or, if you can afford to spend a little more, electricals website OnBuy also has a "deluxe" heated throw on sale for a reduced price of £47, down from £70.
One reviewer who gave the Silentnight Heated Throw five stars wrote: "This was my second purchase as a gift, both were bought with the price of switching on heating at the forefront of my decision. My sister and grandson agree 'it’s the best present ever'."

The review continued: "Both have health issues and keeping warm helps and the central heating can be kept off and this throw uses a minimal amount of electricity keeping costs down. The throw is very, very soft with variable heat settings and the bonus is it can be washed!! My daughter purchased one for herself she was so impressed."
Another satisfied shopper wrote: "Bought this blanket for a present and it was so nice I’ve since been and bought myself one! The blanket is really soft and cosy and heats up very quickly. Hoping it will help with the huge energy price increases and I won’t need my heating on so often!"
