Asda shoppers left cackling over frighteningly misspelled Halloween decoration

Halloween is just around the corner, but Asda shoppers are more scared about grave spelling errors than any otherworldly ghosts and ghouls. Eagle-eyed customers have been left cackling away at a sign spotted in one Asda branch, which appears to misspell the word 'Spooky'.

The sign, displayed amid all the plastic pumpkins and dangling skeleton ornaments reads 'Spoooy', a word which some have likened to 'the kind of word that would appear in the '60's Batman show when he punched someone'. Meanwhile, as previously reported by MyLondon, others have been left taken aback by the sign's £15 price tag, having initially thought it read £1.50.

An amused shopper shared a pic of the decoration on Reddit, quipping: "The only thing spooky about Asda's Halloween decorations is their quality control."

A number of fellow Reddit users were left equally tickled by the oddly spelled sign, with one sharp-witted person chuckling: "I don't see the problem, looks OO to me."

Another laughed: "I want to pick off the 's' and hang it on the toilet door!"

A third gasped: "I'd be more inclined to buy it this way than if it were spelled correctly."

While a fourth joked: "Well worth £15 quid, I'd say. K's are expensive, and would up the price to at least £20."

An Asda spokesperson said: "We believe this was a one-off issue with this particular item and we've not had any other reports of this spelling error.

However if any customer has purchased one of these animated, light-up, Halloween signs and it isn’t how you would expect, please bring it back to store with your receipt for a full refund."

This comes after another 'messed up' Halloween decoration prompted outrage on Reddit, with some believing it had taken things 'too far'.

The decoration in question was made to look like a dead body taped up inside a bin bag and propped up against a tree laced with artificial cobwebs, and looked more like a prop from a gangster movie than a fun seasonal knickknack.

Some were left startled by the spin-chilling display, fearing it may be a bit too scary for local children passing by. Others felt it was harmless, and even admired the individual's pitch-black sense of humour.
