Asda shoppers have been raving about a frozen Chinese meal that's so good they'd consider replacing their takeaways with it.
With the current cost of living crisis, indulging in a takeaway every week may not be possible for some households or families. But it turns out you don't have to go without a weekly treat meal as you can pick up one from the supermarket that's just as good.
Priced at just £2.50, Asda's Takeaway for One frozen meal includes contains sweet and sour chicken, chicken curry, egg fried rice and spring rolls. There's also a couple of Indian varieties, such as Chicken Jalfrezi and Tarka Dahl, Manchester Evening News reports.
Fans took to the Extreme Bargaining and Coupons Facebook page to share their glowing reviews of the meals with other shoppers.
In a post, one person said: "I bought this from Asda. Wasn't expecting too much for £2 but wow, it was lovely. Frozen meal for 1. They had an Indian one too. Popped the spring rolls in the air fryer as bought more than one so cost to heat up was worth it."
People were so impressed that they even said they'd choose them over a takeaway Chinese or Indian meal, whilst others raved about the amount of variety that was available.
One shopper said: "I have had this and it was really nice." Another agreed: "These are lovely … theres a firecracker chicken one and it’s sooo nice."
A third wrote: "I had the Indian one really nice and enough for one will be buying again." while a fourth said: "I had one last night, was just enough for one person and bang on for £2."
