Asda shoppers divided over 'vile' twist on beloved chocolate biscuit

It may be nothing more than a simple chocolate biscuit, but there is something special about chocolate Bourbons that make them loved by Brits everywhere.

And it looks like fans are quite happy to keep the tea-dunking favourite exactly the way it is, as a new flavour that is being sold in Asda has seriously divided shoppers.

The supermarket chain has jumped on the seasonal bandwagon of combining chocolate and orange flavours for an interesting new biscuit that has been described as "vile" by some.

News of the unique new flavour of the beloved chocolate biscuit was shared to the popular Newfoodsuk Facebook page - where it quickly went viral among shoppers who thought the humble biscuit should be left alone.

The post sharing the citrus-chocolate combination read: "New Chocolate Orange Bourbon Biscuits now available at Asda".

Thousands of shoppers were quick to flock to the comments section, with some even suggesting that the combination had "spoiled" a rather good biscuit.

"Noooo you can't put orange in a bourbon", exclaimed one shopper.

"No that’s not right, leave the Bourbon biscuit alone", fumed a second.

"I love orange flavour in biscuits, but these are vile", replied a third.

"Why does everyone assume we all love chocolate and orange together - a good biscuit spoiled", argued a fourth.

Despite many fans wishing for chocolate Bourbons to remain simply as they are, there were quite a few complimentary shoppers who were more enthusiastic on the combination.

"I don't want them .. I NEEEEEED them", praised one happy shopper.

"They will be good. Love any thing with chocolate orange.", raved a second.

"This is a must have. I luv bourbons & chocolate orange", wrote a third.

Asda's Chocolate Orange Bourbons are currently priced at £2 for a 100g packet. You can buy them here.
