Asda shoppers were baffled after spotting a "mysterious" image on their milk cartons.
The supermarket's own brand long-life whole milk features a cow in a field as the main picture. But behind the cow and below the product name is a random rectangle - and it has left buyers mystified over why it is there.
One shopper took to Reddit to question it. They wrote: " Asda milk carton has a mysterious white rectangle on the hills. Why?"

But other social media users couldn't agree on what it was. Some thought it was a door in the middle of the field, while others assumed it was a wooden picket to hold the 'sign' with the text on up.
One user said: "Cow door. Most fields have them." Another said: "It's a door, like the one in the Truman Show. It's a metaphor signifying the caged, controlled lives of the moo-creatures."
A third said: "It's the post holding up the sign with the large lettered MILK on..." Another added: "It’s the pole for the Asda sign with the writing on."
Meanwhile, a third gave a more educated answer, using an image from a similar product to come to a conclusion. They shared a link to the semi-skimmed milk which showed it more clearly as part of the sign as someone else commented: "Mystery solved."
