Rising petrol and diesel prices are contributing to the cost of living crisis currently affecting people up and down the country.
According to the RAC, the current average price for a litre of unleaded is 166.8p, while it is 180.32p for diesel. Part of the reason for the rise in price comes from a fuel shortage in the UK.
Diesel supplies are reportedly at their lowest since 2008 as international events have impacted supply. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has affected supplies of fuel, while protest groups have attempted to block terminals and oil tankers in order to highlight the world's reliance on fossil fuels.
