Supermarket giant Asda has recalled two of its own-label ready meals, after it was discovered their contained an ingredient not listed on the labels. The Asda Italian Inspired Chicken and Bacon Pasta Bake comes in two sizes, and both have been cleared from the shelves.
It has been found that the dish contains mustard, which is not mentioned on the label, meaning the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.
The affected packs are:
400g (price £2.75), barcode 505717226358, use by 29 July and 30 July
800g (proce £3.50) barcode 2742248, use by 29 July and 30 July
No other use-by date products are affected.

A statement on the Food Standards Agency websites advises customers with an allergy to mustard who have bought one of the meals to take it back to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. You won't need your receipt.
The statement said: "Asda is recalling the above product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. "
In a statement on the Asda website, the supermarket said: “We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information please contact Asda Customer Relations – 0800 952 0101.”
Products can be recalled for lots of different reasons - for example, this could be down to possible contamination, misleading or incorrect labels or, as in this case, allergens.
If you've bought a product that's been recalled, you have the right to a refund thanks to the Consumer Rights Act. The retailer that sold it should offer you a full refund, even if it's been in your cupboard or freezer for a while. Even if you've already consumed the product or thrown it away, you are still entitled to a refund if you can provide proof of purchase such as a receipt, bank statement, or online order confirmation.
