Asda has issued a updated regarding the Blue Light Discount after rumours flew that it was being discontinued on Halloween.
This came after shoppers took to social media to say they had been told that the supermarket giant would end its participation in the scheme on October 31, WalesOnline reports.
Blue Light cards can be used by people who work in the NHS emergency services, social care or armed forces to receive discounts at various retailers. The scheme launched during the pandemic helped people pay for goods and was a tribute to the efforts of key workers.

While many shared their concern that Asda would be ending the scheme in store, the supermarket has cleared up any confusion and has confirmed that it will remain in place until 'at least' the end of the year.
Earlier, shoppers took to social media, such as popular Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, claiming they had been told that the scheme was ending by a member of staff at Asda.
One replied: "Gutted, but let's be fair they've kept it going longer than the majority of other stores."
Another said that the decision had "nothing to do with Asda" and that the Blue Light Card app's terms and conditions state that the "offer may be withdrawn at any time".
Another person wondered if it could be "a case of different end dates at different stores", while another interjected to claim she had heard her closest branch was carrying on with the scheme "until December".
Someone else said: "None of Asda's employees have been told that [the scheme] is ending, so whoever told you that has given you false information".
A second person agreed, adding that the deadline is "often renewed a few days before it runs out and the staff at Asda are usually the last to know".
A spokesperson for Asda said: "We can confirm that the partnership between Asda and Blue Light Card is in place until at least the end of the year."
And to clear up any misunderstanding regarding businesses offering discounts to card holders, a spokesperson for Blue Light Card said: "There are no plans for these to be changed and Blue Light Card will continue to partner with leading retailers and restaurants etc to offer our members exclusive discounts both online and on the high-street."
Holders of the card can also get money off both online and in-store at a range of high street retailers, restaurants, supermarkets, resorts and theme parks. Those who sign up for a two-year membership for £4.99 can enjoy offers at places such as Domino's, Starbucks and Halfords.
