Asda has had to issue an apology to fuming shoppers after they recently launched a pair of matching Jubilee themed dresses.
The UK supermarket chain's own fashion brand George was selling floral Union Jack printed midi dresses in adult and kids sizes to celebrate the Queen's upcoming Platinum Jubilee.
Shoppers quickly fell in love with the recently released £8 dress duo that is designed for parents, sisters, aunties, daughters after the supermarket shared a snap online.
Unfortunately, the dresses proved to be so popular for the upcoming bank holiday weekend it completely sold out in record time - and some shoppers were not happy.
The Mirror reports that many shoppers took to Instagram to vent out their frustrations towards the supermarket for sharing a snap of a dress they could no longer buy.
One Instagram user posted two heart eye emojis and said “how cuteee”, while another added: “Ooh I love me some matching Mummy and daughter outfits!!”
But the range has sold out in "record time" sparking anger among some shoppers.
People have taken to Instagram to vent after their attempts to buy the dresses failed with no online stocks available.
The supermarket's fashion label posted a picture of the dresses to its 727k followers this week and said: “Twin in dresses fit for Queens. Prices from £8!”
But frustrated shoppers commented about being unable to get hold of them.
Sarah_b104 said: “I missed this! Gutted”.
Clarke.nicky added: “Pointless out of stock.”
And hayley.worthington said: “Every single size out of stock. So this is a pointless post isn’t it!”
Responding in the comments, George at Asda said: “Sorry folks, you loved the dress so much it sold out in record time!!
"The team are working hard to get more sizes available online. It may be worth checking in your local ASDA store."
