Hear ye, hear he, chocolate lovers are going to love this. Asda is releasing a Coronation-themed caterpillar cake to celebrate the year's biggest royal occasion.
The sweet treat is one of a number of new products joining Asda's bakery ahead of King Charles' big day on May 6. From this week, royal fans can get their hands on the Coronation Letty Character Cake.
Priced at £7, the beloved caterpillar comes complete with a crown, purple robe, and patriotic sprinkles to set off the cake, filled with chocolate flavour buttercream. If you're looking for something more traditional, there's also the £12 Coronation Celebration Cake.
The madeira sponge cake serves 18 so it is perfect for street parties - provided you're willing to share the vanilla frosting and British strawberry jam. The treat, which is also available in the form of a cake jar for £3, is topped with edible crowns.
For ganache lovers, there's a Coronation Tray Bake for £6.50. Meanwhile, the Coronation Giant Cookie will set you back £8. Or you can enjoy a royal treat with the Gingerbread Coronation Crown for 65p.
Partygoers looking for something less sweet will likely be pleased to learn the bakery is releasing Coronation Crumpets too. If you're not a fan of crumpets with a crown-shaped imprint, Asda is also selling King Sized Brioche Burger Buns and Brioche Hot Dog Buns ready for celebratory barbecues.
Or if you fancy something more personalised, you can mark the day with the Coronation Photo Cake. Available in either plain sponge with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam or chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream, shoppers can upload a picture of their choice to be printed onto the cake.
It comes in two sizes: small, £14, which serves 22, and large, £18, which serves 40.
All products are available in-store and online from April 27 until May 18, with the exception of the photo cake which is available in-store only.
