Asda is selling a £45 dupe of Hotel Chocolat's sell-out Velvetiser.
The Velvetiser, costing £99.95, is a popular gift this Christmas, but savvy shoppers may want to consider Asda's option instead. The Salter Professional The Chocolatier Hot Chocolate Maker claims to create "hot or cold barista-grade drinks at home with the perfect milk froth".
The Salter machine also costs £54.95 less than Hotel Chocolat's Velvetiser. According to Asda, the hot chocolate maker has a 240ml capacity for heating drinks.

To use the machine add dairy, plant-based milk or water to The Chocolatier along with chocolate flakes before touching the start button. Within five minutes, you should have a smooth hot chocolate.
The Chocolatier also has a 115ml capacity for milk frothing and has cold, thick and light froth options ideal for iced coffee and frappes.
One reviewer, who bought the Salter machine, said: "I bought this as an alternative to the Velvetiser as its pricey, and I'm so glad I did, its brilliant. Would definitely recommend!"
A second said: "Had a similar machine from the leading competitor and this is far better! Lots asking about the temperature well it's hotter than their version, and the guarantee is better. Worth every penny."
