You may have planned, prepped and organised for the extended bank holiday but have you considered when the local supermarkets will be open and closed over the Jubilee long weekend? Running out of that essential ingredient could spelling a culinary disaster so make sure you're up to speed with where you can head for any last minute purchases.
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee means an extra bank holiday and therefore, for many, an extra day off. While some stores are expected to shorten their opening times for Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3, others haven't strayed from their usual trading times.
Aldi, for instance, has confirmed that they'll be open a usual over the four-day weekend. It said: "Over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, normal opening hours will remain in place at Aldi’s more than 960 stores, meaning customers have time to pick up everything they need to enjoy the celebrations over the long weekend."

However, it did warn that not all stores had the same trading hours. Adding: "Opening times of some stores may vary, so customers should check details on Aldi’s website before their trip".
Sainsbury's also declared its times over the Spring and Platinum Jubilee bank holiday. It says that the vast majority of its supermarkets across England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be open between 7.00am and 8.00 pm. Adding: "The majority of Sainsbury’s Local stores will be open as normal. Openings hours do vary though, so it’s best to check the store locator for the latest details."
