It’s training camp report day for Raiders veterans. At least for all those currently under contract.
Not among them will be Josh Jacobs. The deadline passed for the reigning rushing champ to sign a long-term deal and he has yet to sign his franchise tender. Until he does, he is under no obligation to attend training camp. And from the sounds of it, he has no intention of doing so.
According to ESPN’s Tom Pelissero, Jacobs was boarding a flight on Monday out of Vegas and doesn’t plan to return anytime soon.

Jacobs’s absence from training camp was expected. Without being under contract, he sees no dock in his pay if he skips camp. So, he could show up and sign his franchise tag anytime he feels like it ahead of the start of the season.
So, why not beat the scorching Vegas August heat and get out of town for a bit while limiting the wear and tear on his body.
