A former British actress who starred in the sitcom As If has been jailed for drink driving.
Emily Corrie was almost five times the legal drinking limit when she was arrested by Portsmouth Police for drink driving on the way to her hen party in Hertfordshire on 28 August.
Corrie, 36, played the character of Sooz in the Channel 4 drama before joining the Royal Navy. Her rebellious character inspired the McFly song "Five Colours in her Hair". As If ran for four seasons and Corrie was the only member to travel to Los Angeles for the US version of the show. She moved back to the UK and appeared in Casualty, Doctors and NY-LON before joining the navy.
Portsmouth Crown Court heard she drunkly asked officers if she would still make it in time for her party.
Corrie, who has since married, was sentenced to 12 months for dangerous driving and four months for excess alcohol, to run concurrently.
She was also banned from driving for three years and ordered to take a retest.
