You're probably getting whiplash by now with all of the breaking fashion news, but there's another important update. Bottega Veneta's now former creative director Matthieu Blazy is moving to Chanel. The French fashion house just confirmed months of suspicion that this appointment was in the works.
Blazy became a household name after taking over Bottega Veneta. He managed to bring even more life to the brand, which seemed like an almost impossible feat after Daniel Lee's departure since Lee really got the conversation started. So why would Blazy want to leave? Because it's Chanel, that's why. The brand has had three official creative directors in its storied history, making Blazy only the fourth designer to take the reins.
The question remains how Blazy will leave his mark on the iconic label. Thanks to Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard, the brand's penchant for tweed has stayed intact. So it'll be interesting to see how and even if Blazy will do the same. Obviously, Chanel is hoping he'll be able to bump up their sales just like he did at Bottega Veneta.
Now that we've gotten this all out of the way, stay tuned to see who goes where next.
