Now the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts moving forward, Joe Flacco will have the opportunity to earn up to $3.7 million in additional contract incentives, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.
Joe Flacco’s one-year contract with the #Colts includes $3.7 million in incentives. That includes $100,000 for each regular-season win in which he plays 50% of the snaps. (He’s also prohibited from mountain climbing and karate.) pic.twitter.com/UdSvb6eUZR

The Colts signed Flacco to a one-year, $4.5 million deal in the offseason. This came in the form of a $1.5 million signing bonus and a $3 million base salary.
Based on how the team performs under Flacco, he will now have the opportunity to add to that $4.5 million total.
As highlighted in Pelissero’s post, Flacco can earn additional compensation based on playing time and the Colts making the playoffs, and maxes out at $1,000,000.
- 30% or more of offensive playing time during 2024 regular season: $250,000 or
- 40% or more of offensive playing time during 2024 regular season: $500,000 or
- 50% or more of offensive playing time during 2024 regular season: $750,000 or
- 60% or more of offensive playing time during 2024 regular season: $1,000,000 or
Another bonus opportunity for Flacco is that for every win the Colts get where he plays at least 50 percent of the offensive snaps, he earns $100,000, maxing out at $1.7 million.
Then, for every potential playoff game that Flacco plays 50 percent of the offensive snaps and the team wins, he earns an additional $250,000, maxing out at $1,000,000.
In total, between those three separate incentives, the total added earning potential for Flacco is the aforementioned $3.7 million.
Any additional incentives that Flacco hits will add to his 2024 cap hits that the Colts will have to absorb.
