Artist behind Marcus Rashford mural shares artwork painted for new puppy cafe

The artist behind the famous Marcus Rashford mural, Akse P19, has created some pawsome new art to celebrate the opening of a brand new puppy cafe.

The Mancunian street artist has previously produced a mural of late Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis, as well as tributes to David Bowie, George Floyd and Captain Sir Tom Moore.

Now he's created an original mural design of six pups - making it the picture-perfect spot to take your dog for a bite to eat.

Artist Akse said: “The response to the dog mural competition has been a great success, people have posted some fantastic photos of their canine soulmates, it’s really been fun to make this mural come to life.”

The artwork was unveiled ahead of the grand opening of the cafe in Bakers & Baristas on February 14 at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet on Valentine’s Day.

On the brightly coloured wall, you can spot miniature dachshund Oscar, labradoodle Dobby, bassett hound Basil, terrier Cooper, miniature poodle Snoop and cocker spaniel Hattie.

The cafe will be open from February 14-18.

Guests can bring their furry soulmate along for some puppy love and handmade patisserie-style snacks, made with natural ingredients.

Kenny Murray, the general manager, said: “It’s no doubt that we are a nation of dog lovers, and here at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet we adore seeing all of the beautiful dogs brought into the Centre.

"We are delighted to be able to give visitors the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day out with their four-legged friend in tow, whether it’s admiring the brand-new mural by Akse P19, or stopping off for a pup-friendly pastry at the Puppy Love Café.”
