Liverpool are in talks over a season-long loan move for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo with the Reds looking to do business before the transfer window closes this evening.
The 26-year-old Brazil international has been identified as a possible solution to their ongoing injury problems in the engine room after Jordan Henderson became the latest player sidelined.
The skipper is set to undergo a scan after limping out of Wednesday's dramatic 2-1 home Premier League win over Newcastle United with a hamstring issue.

Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thiago Alcantara are already out, although the latter is believed close to a comeback having been missing for almost a month with his own hamstring complaint.
Arthur, who is a defensive midfielder by trade, has been in and out of the Juventus team since joining in the summer of 2020, making 31 appearances last season of which 16 were starts. He has yet to feature this season and didn't take part in the Italian team's pre-season tour.
The Brazilian had previously spent two years at Barcelona where he featured as a late substitute in the famous 4-0 Champions League semi-final second leg defeat at Liverpool in May 2019.
Arthut has been sidelined with 15 different injury complaints during his four years playing in Europe. He was a regular in the Brazil national team until the end of 2019 but has since been named in the squad only twice.
While interested in a potential deal for Arthur, Liverpool are continuing to assess other ways of bolstering their midfield options before the deadline.
