Arsene Wenger: Arsenal are now Man City’s biggest title threat this season

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes the Gunners are Manchester City's biggest title threat this season.

Arsenal remain top of the Premier League after beating third-placed Tottenham in Saturday's north London derby. Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka rounding off a comprehensive victory after costly mistakes from Spurs.

The following day, City laid down an even more convincing title marker in a derby as both Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scored hat-tricks in a 6-3 win over Manchester United.

And Wenger believes it will be those two battling it out for the title come the end of the season.

"Personally, I would put Arsenal just behind Manchester City," he said on beIN Sports. "Arsenal are the second best team [and] have a good chance at winning the Premier League."

Haaland now has three hat-tricks in his eight Premier League games, and Wenger feels the summer signing is becoming unplayable.

Wenger continued: "He is quite a monster. You get the feeling that who can stop this guy? On top of that the service from those around him is exceptional.

"Manchester United have some work to do with their defenders and midfielders defending crosses."
