Arsenal youngster Brooke Norton-Cuffy recalled from loan before new move confirmed

Coventry City have announced the signing of Arsenal youngster Brooke Norton-Cuffy on loan.

Norton-Cuffy spent the first half of the 2022/23 campaign on loan with fellow Championship side Rotherham United, although the talented defender was briefly recalled by the Gunners before joining the Sky Blues on a temporary basis. The 18-year-old, who signed a new contract at the Emirates Stadium last summer, had featured 21 times for Rotherham this term.

Coventry manager Mark Robins has made it no secret of his admiration for the young full-back, heaping praise on his sky-high potential.

“We are delighted to welcome Brooke to Coventry City on loan until the end of the season", Robins told the club's official website.

“He is a strong and powerful wing-back with great pedigree and attitude, who will add further quality to our squad. Brooke is a player who we tried to bring in during the summer transfer window, so we are really pleased to have the opportunity to add him now and are looking forward to working with him.”

Norton-Cuffy was part of the England Under-19 side that won the European U-19s Championship last summer, featuring in all five games as The Three Lions triumphed in Slovakia. Speaking after he committed to a long-term contract with Arsenal, the youngster said: “I’m really over the moon to sign for such a great club.

“I’ve been dreaming of this day for a long time and I worked hard for this moment and I’ve got it, so I’m very proud.“
