Arsenal XI vs Newcastle: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Carabao Cup today

Arsenal have named an unchanged line-up to face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg tonight.

The Gunners are heading to St. James’ Park off the back of a thumping 5-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

Arteta is able to stick with the same side that beat City as Arsenal have picked up no fresh injuries from that game.

That means Ethan Nwaneri, who came off the bench against City to score Arsenal’s fifth goal, is again be on the bench.

The 17-year-old has scored seven goals this season and three of those have come in the Carabao Cup.

“The only thing that I want with him is that he continues to do what he’s doing and play with that freedom, with that tenacity when he’s on the pitch and with that confidence,” said Arteta.

“Because he’s got the ability to make it happen and whether he does that or not, it will be a matter of time.”

Arsenal face a mountain to climb ahead of this second leg at Newcastle, however, as they are 2-0 down from the first leg.

“Next stop is a final in Wembley so we know how big that is and you can feel it,” said Arteta. “You can feel it straight away.

“The boost that the game gave us when against City, the manner that we did it and the fact that it's a game that is the closest competition we are in to a final. So we're going to give it our real go.”
