Bukayo Saka is Arsenal captain in the absence of Martin Odegaard.

Kai Havertz again starts in midfield alongside Thomas Partey and Declan Rice, who returns in the Premier League after missing last weekend’s 1-0 win at Tottenham through suspension.

Leandro Trossard plays through the middle and is flanked by Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the wings.

Arsenal will again have to make do without Odegaard.

Odegaard is out for the foreseeable future with the ankle injury he sustained playing for Norway.

Trossard and Calafiori come into the Arsenal team as the two changes from the side who drew at Atalanta in the Champions League on Thursday.

Like White, Gabriel Jesus drops to the bench.

Mikel Merino, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are all out injured.

Confirmed Arsenal XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel; Calafiori; Havertz, Partey, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli

Subs: Neto, White, Kiwior, Kacurri, Lewis-Skelly, Jorginho, Nwaneri, Sterling, Jesus
