Arsenal have been dealt a blow after Emile Smith Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu were forced to miss their match against Wolves on Thursday.
Smith Rowe, who scored in Saturday’s win against Brentford, has not been training this week and misses out due to illness. Arsenal have, however, confirmed that the 20-year-old is not suffering from Covid-19.
Tomiyasu, meanwhile, is struggling with a calf issue and he has not played for Arsenal since January 20.
The Japan international was forced to miss the recent international break and his participation in Arsenal’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai was disrupted too.
His absence means that Cedric Soares starts against Wolves at Emirates Stadium and he comes into the game in good form after impressing against Brentford.
Smith Rowe’s absence means that Gabriel Martinelli is back in the starting XI after returning from suspension following a red card at Wolves earlier this month.
