Arsenal will beat Liverpool to crucial £15m Serie A transfer thanks to Trent Alexander-Arnold

Arsenal can beat Liverpool to a crucial signing in order to solve the club’s full-back issues, thanks to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Football.london understands that Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool are considering a bid for Torino right-back Wilfried Singo, who would be available for around £15m.

The Gunners could have the advantage of signing Singo ahead of Liverpool as they can guarantee the Ivorian international first-team football, which Liverpool can't due to the dominance of Alexander-Arnold in that position.

With Mikel Arteta’s side also ahead of Tottenham in the Premier League and more likely to qualify for the Champions League, it also makes the Gunners more of an attractive destination than Spurs.

Liverpool’s interest in Singo is certainly a positive sign for Edu and should be enough to persuade him that the Gunners should pursue a deal for the right-back.

Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson have arguably been the most crucial players in a team that has won the Premier League and the Champions League in the last three years under Klopp.

Their recruitment in this position has been spot on, as their backup option in Kostas Tsimikas, has also been performing excellently which was shown when he replaced the injured Robertson at the start of this season.

With Liverpool’s recruitment under Klopp being at a high level, their interest in Singo should give an extra incentive for Edu to get a deal over the line.

Despite the excellent acquisition of Tomiyasu from Bologna in a bargain £19.8m deal, Arteta’s side still requires another right-back in the squad.

The difference in quality between Tomiyasu and the covering right-backs was proven in the 4-1 victory over Leeds United earlier in the season when Cedric Soares came on to replace the 23-year-old and instantly Arteta’s defence looked weaker, causing the loss of a clean sheet.

The sale of Calum Chambers and Ainsley Maitland-Niles means that Cedric is the only alternative to Tomiyasu, which makes signing a right-back a necessity in the summer transfer window.

Singo would be a quality signing for Arsenal at a low price which is similar to Tomiyasu, and they will have the upper hand on Liverpool if they promise him regular first-team football which is impossible with the Reds due to the quality of Alexander-Arnold.
