Watch Arsenal Vs Tottenham highlights as the Gunners came from behind to beat Spurs in the North London Derby at the Emirates on Wednesday.
Mikel Arteta’s side moved to within just four points of Premier League table-toppers Liverpool as they overcame rivals Tottenham.
It was a vital victory for Arsenal, who have played one more game than Liverpool.
They were dumped out of the FA Cup at the weekend after losing on penalties to Manchester United, and are 2-0 down on aggregate ahead of the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Newcastle.
Things looked to be getting even worse when Son Heung-Min opened the scoring for Spurs. The Korean forward’s shot deflected in off William Saliba to beat Raya after 25 minutes.
But a quick-fire double on the stroke of halftime turned the game on its head. Gabriel leapt highest to head Declan Rice’s corner back into the danger zone, with Tottenham keeper Kinsky struggling to deal with it.
The ball found its way in, with Dominic Solanke getting the final touch for a Spurs own goal.
Arsenal then took the lead minutes later. Leandro Trossard benefitted from a poor bit of keeping from Kinsky to make it 2-1 to the hosts at the break.
After half-time, the Gunners took complete control but weren’t able to finish the game off. It highlighted once more how they lack a clinical striker, something Arteta may hope to rectify in the transfer market.
But Arsenal held on for victory and kept their title hopes alive, though they will need Liverpool to drop off sharply if they are to win a first Premier League since 2004.
