Arsenal vs Manchester United Highlights: Red Devils Win Via Pens

Manchester United beat Arsenal via a penalty shootout in the FA Cup and you can find the highlights below.

The Gunners were favourites on UK betting sites and the north London side made the better start at the Emirates, dominating possession but failed to create anything of not to test the United keeper.

Gabriel Martinelli thought he found the opener for Arsenal after placing the ball into the bottom left corner, however the Brazilian was deemed to be offside.

United appeared to be hoping for a chance on the counter attack after soaking up Arsenal’s pressure and Kobbie Mainoo had the best chance but his effort from distance was comfortable for David Raya.

Bruno Fernandes received a booking for an extravagant show of dissent towards the end of the half, as the Portuguese international threw his boot into the ground twice as he believed he was fouled by Gabriel Jesus.

The score was level going into the break and Arsenal had very little to show despite their dominance during the first 45 minutes.

However, it was United who struck first in the second half as Bruno Fernandes finished superbly into the bottom right corner after some good work from Alejandro Garnacho.

United’s joy was short-lived as Diogo Dalot was sent off for two bookable offences and Arsenal took advantage almost instantly – equalising through Gabriel.

The Gunners looked to be heading towards victory as they received a dubious penalty for Harry Maguires challenge on Kai Havertz – but Martin Odegaard’s spot kick was saved by Altay Bayindir.

Arsenal heaped huge amounts of pressure on the United defence but could not break through a barrier of Maguire and De Ligt.

The two sides could not be split after 90 minutes and the match went into extra-time, with Arsenal creating more chances but failing to convert.

After a 30 minute onslaught, the match had to be decided by penalties as Bayindir stepped up to save Kai Havertz’s spot-kick and help United progress into the FA Cup fourth round.
