Arsenal vs Leicester City prediction and odds: Gabriel Martinelli tipped to continue goalscoring form

Arsenal will be looking to continue their top four fight in the Premier League as they welcome a mediocre Leicester City who have had a season to forget.

The Gunners are the favourites at 8/15 with Betfred while the Foxes are 5/1 and a draw is 18/5.

Mikel Arteta's side go into the weekend in fourth and a point ahead of Manchester United - who play Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday - with three games in hand with four successive league wins under their belts.

With no distraction in Europe and being out of the FA Cup early on, Arsenal's focus will solely be on the Premier League and with plenty of time to prepare for each fixture, they are in a great place for Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile, Leicester City's season has been underwhelming to say the least having gone into the season as FA Cup champions and targeting European football after back-to-back battles to qualify for Champions League football once again (granted they were unsuccessful).

Right now, they find themselves mid-table behind the likes of Crystal Palace, Southampton and Aston Villa with key players such as Jamie Vardy continue to spend time in the treatment room.

Team stats

  • Both teams in matches involving Arsenal have scored in 10 out of 25 league matches while for Leicester it is 16 from 25 - both teams to score is 8/11
  • Arsenal have finished 14 league matches with three or more goals while for Leicester it is 16 - over 2.5 goals is 8/13

Player to watch

Gabriel Martinelli was clinical in front of goal against Watford with a stunner to secure all three points, exactly what I tipped last weekend when the Gunners were at Vicarage Road.

The Brazilian will be keen to add more to the tally as his side look to go five league wins in as many matches this weekend.

H2H

This is the 148th meeting between the two sides with Arsenal picking up 69 wins, 46 draws and 32 defeats against Leicester.
